Constitution ( A precursor to we as an "Institution" )

 

NAME / COLOR : The Club shall be known as ‘Sri Jagannath Cricket Club’ and can be referred in short as SJCC.  Team uniform color will be  “Grey” for match year 2009-10 and "Yellow" for match year 2010-11 and "Blue" for match year 2011-12.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The aims and objectives of the Club are:

1. To offer competitive opportunities in cricket to contemporary cricket teams.

2. To promote the Club and the sport of cricket within the Society.

3. To provide all of its services in a way that is fair to everyone.

4. To ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment / Justice.

5. Always put members first than anything else.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Club shall be equally open to all, irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, religion, creed, color, social status or even gender orientation and not unreasonably restricted, to any person who is prepared to accept the objectives of the Club.

 

SUBSCRIPTION

Annual Subscription and Match Fees for the coming season are recommended and decided by the Committee.

 

MEMBERSHIP FEES

Full membership will be just Rs. 200 plus match expenses as decided from time to time and communicated to the team.

Membership fee can be paid either thru liquid cash, online transfer or cheque leaf to the account number provided by the team management.

MANAGEMENT

The Club will be managed and headed by Siba Ram Baral. The team will conduct its business in accordance with the Club Constitution. All team Members must be members of the Club. The team has authority to co-opt other Club Members from time to time as it thinks appropriate.  The team shall meet regularly to conduct the business of the Club and accepted team protocols shall apply.

 

CAPTAIN

The Captain is expected to put the interest on his teammates first and foremost. He will carry out the plan that was talked by the team before start of the game. Game planning and strategizing will be on ground  responsibility of the Captain and Vice Captain. Planning for the batting order and bowling order also needs to be shouldered by them. How ever Team Management keeps the supreme power for any decision without even noticing any one.

 

CONFLICTS AND MATTERS ARISING

In the event of any conflict or matter arising that is not provided for in the constitution, such question or matter shall be dealt with by the Committee, whose decision shall be final. Members who will misbehave to damage clubs image on or off the field will be fined or will be terminated from the club membership.  Prorated membership due will be return to the member. This will hold true to committee members as well.

 

SPECIAL MEETINGS

The Organizer shall convene a Special Meeting at any time by order of the Committee, or on receiving a request by at least 50% of the members.

FINANCE

All Club monies will be banked in an account supported by an up to date record maintaining tabular format. The Club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the Club. Proper accounts shall be kept of all sums of money received and paid out by the Club. The Financial Year of the Club ends with a settlement of all out standing credits and debits. An audited statement of accounts, up to and including this date, shall be presented to all members at the end of club year.

 

TEAMS

The Committee shall select Teams to represent the Club in any Competition or match.

 

TROPHIES

The Club will award the following trophies annually.

Best Batsman, who will be decided by:- Total runs scored for a single season and having the best average.  Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.

Best Bowler, who will be decided by:- Total wickets taken for a single season and best economy rate.  Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.

Best Keeper, who will be decided by:- Total runs catches and stumping for a single season and having the best average.  Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.

Best Fielder, who will be decided by:- Total number of catches or run outs made for a single season and best economy rate.  Member had to have played more than 60% of the games for the season.

 

ALTERATION OF THE CONSTITUTION

The Constitution shall be reviewed by the Committee annually and changes may be proposed. Individual members may also propose changes. All proposed changes shall be forwarded to the team manager on or before the 31st December.  No alteration shall be made unless supported by a majority of those members. How ever Team management keeps the supreme power of decisions at all times.
